A little more detail of what you need
Obviously there is the infrared pen. This was a stumbling block for many but now you can buy one ready made, tried and tested.
The next problem is the bluetooth connectivity, originally when the project made its debut not all bluetooth modules, or their software would connect to the wiimote so we tracked down modules that do
The wiimote itself. Thanks to Nintendo and mass production, this nifty bit of kit has all of the technical wizardry to allow for an interactive experience at a fraction of the traditional whiteboards cost. Not all third-party wii remote controllers work with this project however we have tracked down and offer those that do. It also means you can move easily from one room/building/country to another without a truck to carry the whiteboard itself.
The software has gone through several development phases and you can still get Johnnys original code for free, the 0.4.6 version of Smoothboard for free or if you prefer a more polished version the 1.6 for a small licence fee. Numerous other bits and bobs to help set up and complete the project are available in our store.
Thanks to the work of Johnny Chung Lee and Nintendo's Wii remote controller it is possible to turn any surface into any interactive one. For classroom use a projector will be required which I guess bumps up the price - but if you were going to have an interactive classroom solution you would need the projector anyway. |
